October 28 - November 4    Clayton Piano Festival - Clayton

The festival dedicated to concert piano presents four concerts over nine days, each with a guest pianist and a theme. Pianists involved in the festival also make presentations in local schools and to local piano students while in town. The final concert November 7 is in Raleigh.

October 30: Jonathan Levin, "Night of the Living Composers," Halloween-themed concert and costume ball with dinner, concert and dessert reception.
November 1: Paul Sanchez, "In the Gardens of Spain," works by Spanish composers Isaac Albeniz and Enrique Granados.
November 5: Yana Reznik, "From Russia with Love," selections from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite and famous preludes by Sergei Rachmaninoff, with optional Russian dinner and/or dessert reception.
November 7: Michael Bulychev-Okser, "Beethoven and Why the Piano Matters," sonatas of his early middle and late periods.

Wagner House Series (three concerts, dinners, receptions): $90 adults, $70 older than 64, $50 younger than 13.
Individual shows' prices vary.

November 19    Carolina Lily Fest - New Bern

The festival by the organizers of the Bernaroo Music and Arts Festival debuts in 2015 to place "a strong focus on the area's brightly blossoming arts scene." In addition to a day of music, it will present a poetry showcase, a live aerial-silk performance, local craft beer and food vendors, and visual arts vendors.
